The Chamaedorea Elegans is a palm that originates from the rainforests of Mexico and Guatemala. The palm remains relatively small in the wild, hence the Dutch name: Mexican Mountain Palm.

Watering
Water the Alocasia Macrorrhiza regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist. Provide good drainage to prevent root rot. Water less in winter.
Location
Place the Alocasia Macrorrhiza in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn. An eastern or western window is ideal.
Feeding - Fertilizing
Fertilize the Alocasia Macrorrhiza during the growth period (spring and summer) every two weeks with liquid houseplant food. Do not fertilize in the fall and winter.
Maintain
Regularly remove dust from the leaves with a damp cloth. Remove old, yellowed leaves at the base of the plant.
Repotting
repot the Alocasia Macrorrhiza every 1-2 years in the spring, in a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Use fresh potting soil for houseplants.
