The Pachira Aquatica originally grows in swampy areas in Central and South America. But its five-pointed leaves have made it popular in a completely different part of the world.
The number five is a symbol of happiness and prosperity in China. This tree is often given as a housewarming gift. And that is how it got its Dutch name Geldboom. This artificial Geldboom has a lifelike double trunk and large shiny leaves.
Give it a nice spot in your home or office and perhaps it will bring you prosperity too.

Alocasia Species Care
Watering
Water the Alocasia Macrorrhiza regularly, keeping the soil slightly moist. Provide good drainage to prevent root rot. Water less in winter.
Location
Place the Alocasia Macrorrhiza in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight, which can cause leaf burn. An eastern or western window is ideal.
Feeding - Fertilizing
Fertilize the Alocasia Macrorrhiza during the growth period (spring and summer) every two weeks with liquid houseplant food. Do not fertilize in the fall and winter.
Maintain
Regularly remove dust from the leaves with a damp cloth. Remove old, yellowed leaves at the base of the plant.
Repotting
repot the Alocasia Macrorrhiza every 1-2 years in the spring, in a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Use fresh potting soil for houseplants.
