Strelitzia Types Care
Watering
Water Strelitzia Nicolai regularly, especially during the growing season in spring and summer. Allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings. Water less in winter.
Location
Place the Strelitzia Nicolai in a bright spot, but avoid direct sunlight, especially in summer. An eastern or western window is ideal.
The Strelitzia nicolai is frost resistant to -5C°, but it is advisable to take your plants indoors at the first frost.
Feeding - Fertilizing
During the growth period (spring and summer) give liquid houseplant food every two weeks. Do not fertilize in the fall and winter.
Maintain
Regularly remove dust from the leaves with a damp cloth. Remove old, brown leaves at the base of the plant.
Repotting
Repot the Strelitzia Nicolai every 2-3 years in the spring, in a pot that is slightly larger than the current one. Use fresh potting soil for houseplants.
